Simple Stories

Okay so they didn't get me on the design team for Simple Stories but I am still quite proud of the projects I submitted for the challenge!  Lol. I guess now I can share them with my huge following!!!  The first one is a baby girl canvas I did with a built in 6 months of pictures and journals for it.  I love the Baby Steps line and will use it over and over again!

Next I did a layout of my Mom.  It was rather therapeutic for me as I was having a bad week and was missing her lots.  As I thought about her the page came easily and I was able to put my thoughts and feelings into the layout.

The clock is stamped, sprayed, masked and distressed!

Then I also submitted the Christmas Artist Tray that I did earlier and still want to do as a class some time!

The final project I did you will be seeing more of.  It is the start of Cierra's Grade 1 album.  I decided to do it with the Close to My Heart Folios that are 12x12 in size.  It is like a big file folder.  I am doing one for each of her 'subjects' Spelling, Reading, Math, Art and General for now.  This is her Spelling folder.  I will collect all of her spelling tests each week and store them in the built in pocket inside the folder.  I also made an additional pocket on the front layout to store all the extras in.  I will be working on the new folders as I can.  I hope to get alot of them completed on our upcoming scrapbook weekend away.  I can't wait for the weekend of paper, glue and the best friends a girl could ask for!

Its hard to capture how fun and dimensional this is!

That's all I have for now!  I will be posting pictures of the upcoming class I am working on that will be all about Glimmer, Shimmer and Shine!!!!

I have decided to start to put my completed layouts on the blog to share and get feedback on them.  These are a lot of layouts that I did last year but worth putting out there!  Enjoy!

So many of you know that I am a leader in the Sparks group (mini girl guides) and volunteer with a group of wonderful ladies and awesome little Sparks!  I made these cute little Valentines for their party this week and had a great time doing them.  I had a little help from DM as she was the designated stamper because she was afraid of the sewing machine!  I think I will stick to sewing paper instead of material as these were much more forgiving that material!  The idea was inspired from Heidi Swapp's blog http://heidiswapp.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/02/candy.html.  I used some of my many Close to My Heart stamps too!

I am busy getting some new classes put together and will have more details about them soon.  Watch for dates and pictures.  It is going to get messy around here!!

Then and Now layout

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary in August and I decided that I wanted to do a layout for it as I rarely scrap myself (I know, I know..)  Sadly for the last 2 years in August,  I haven't been in the same postal code as Dion for our anniversary.  Both times, I was dealing with the loss of my father last year and my mother this year so anniversary took a back burner.  This was my way of remembering our special day and what a great husband he really is!

Once the page was done, I submitted it to Joanne at Scrapbookers Bliss and she wanted me to teach a class for the layout.  Well after some delay that is happening!  I will be teaching it twice; tomorrow evening and again on Wednesday Nov 30th.   This is my first experience in teaching for the store so I really looking forward to it and would love to see some familiar faces around the tables!  Call Joanne at the store if you are interested in attending it.

I am also doing another class in December that is a home decor item.  It is a Christmas Tag tray that you hand in your home and the tags can be seasonally changed out as desired!  I hope to start a rotating collection of the tags for mine at home!  Again, if you are interested in taking the class, please contact Joanne at Scrapbookers Bliss http://scrapbookersbliss.blogspot.com/

I really have to make a point of updating more often!  We will see how I do!  Till then, hope to see you all soon

Kate's Baby Shower

Okay, I know it has been forever seen I blogged but I have found the perfect reason today to share with you!  One of my best friends just had a baby girl 10 days ago and we decided it was over due for a baby shower.  So Donna Marie, Christine and I hosted a shower with all the proper girly pink decor to go along with it.  Michelle, the Mom is not much of a crafty person and here she is with three of the most over the top crafters as friends!  We had a great time preparing and coming up with ideas.  We worked well as a team, the creator, the perfectionist and the worker bee!!  I will let you figure out who is who!!.  Our new baby Kate is absolutely perfect and was the perfect princess all through the shower.  Thank you to everyone that came and shared in our great pink adventure.  Only one question is left, who is having the next baby because we loved doing it!

Here are some pictures to share.
